Kentucky Wins The Liberty Bowl!
In a very exciting finish, the Kentucky Wildcats pulled out their 3rd straight bowl win against a tough Conference USA champion, Eastern Carolina. The 25-19 win by the Wildcats put an end to a rebuilding year for the Wildcats. Kentucky suffered many injuries this season that really hampered their ability to build on last season's incredible run. When star receiver Tammy went down, it left no proven receivers for the first year starting QB, Hartline. Kentucky is a team that won all the out of conference games they should have which allowed them to falter in the SEC and still make a bowl game. Faltering or not going into the Liberty Bowl, the Wildcats ended their 2008 season with another bowl win and hopefully it leads to even better recruiting. If the Wildcats are going to constantly compete in the SEC they need to add depth to a quality roster that allows for some injuries and free substitutions that keep players fresh. Right now they are not at that point, but hopefully we have gotten closer to that day with another bowl win that pushed their final record to 7-6.
