Reds got off to a quick start, making Peavy throw 34 pitches in the first inning, while scoring 2 runs. Freel led off with a single and Hamilton followed with a single of his own. Hamilton then was caught stealing when Griffey struck out and with two outs it looked as though Peavy had escaped with Freel at third and two outs. But Phillips extends his hitting streak with a double and Freel scores. Then Dunn singles in Phillips and the Reds get two early on Peavy.
The Padres scored one in the bottom of the second to make the score 2-1 where it stands right now in the bottom of the 6th. The Reds are trying to hold on to this small lead and take the 3 game series 2-1 over the Padres.
Peavy's pitch count is in the 90's and counting in the seventh and looks to be about done for the night while Arroyo has only thrown 76 pitches through 6 innings.
Padres Get 1 in the bottom of the 7th and the game is tied 2-2.. I will post how it finishes tomorrow....
