Arroyo Walks In Game Winning Run
A good performance by Arroyo last night ended with him walking in the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth with the score tied a 2. The walk signified the lack of confidence that Narron has in his bullpen since Arroyo started the ninth inning by giving up back to back hits. Instead of bringing in someone from the bullpen Narron decided to stick with Arroyo. Arroyo then made a throwing error when a ground ball came right back to him and he threw to third base for the force out. The throw was in the dirt and Freel could not hold on as the baserunner slid into him. Then with the bases loaded and a full count Arroyo threw a breaking ball that looked to be strike three but was called ball 4 and the Padres took the game 3-2.
